For those of you who are unsure of what GDPR is, here is a brief summary and a link to where you can find more information: https://www.eugdpr.org.

GDPR replaces the Data Protection Directive, which is the current legislation that protects your personal data held by individual companies. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It specifically addresses the export of personal data within and outside the EU.

GDPR regulates how data is collected, how it’s stored and also how it is used within a company for purposes such as marketing, sending vaccination reminders and invitations to client talks and events. The legislation gives you as a consumer much more control over what personal information we hold and how we use it. Primarily it gives you direct control over our practice’s use and storage of your personal data. In order to comply with the GDPR legislation we need to you “opt in”, to allow us to hold and use your information for purposes of our business. Furthermore, the legislation also gives you as a consumer the ability to request what data we hold and also have it deleted.
