F.A.Q.

Historically horses used to be wormed every 6-8 weeks. This is poor advice as it has promoted resistance. Therefore we only advise worming those horses which have a burden – testing is key! Contact the practice a get an appointment!

If your horse is within 5 miles of another horse or goes out to grass to graze – these are two factors that could exposure your horse to Flu and / or tetanus. Vaccination is ALWAYS recommended.

A highly personal choice, however we would highly recommend you always have some form of financial “backup” for your horses healthcare. Insurance is not always a necessity, yet it can be very beneficial

Routine dental examinations are always advised. Checking horses between 6-12 months in most instances will mean preventative work can be maintained and potentially save you money in the long term.
